An Arts-Based Inquiry into Affective Experiences with Music: Arts-Based Interview Data
This dataset contains the data from the arts-based interview study, aimed at exploring people's affective experiences with their favourite music using art mediums. In this study, participants will be invited to reflect on their emotional experiences while listening to their favourite music through drawing. Thereafter, the researcher will engage participants in a semi-structured interview about their emotional experiences with their favourite music and how their favourite music relates to their sense of self (or self-construal). This dataset contains the interview transcripts as well as the art responses (both the participant's and the researcher's).
This study received ethical approval via the University of Sheffield's ethics review procedure, as administered by the Department of Music (application reference #061030).
