The dataset relates to an experimental PhD study of 34 pupils in Year 3 (aged 7-8) in the UK. Background information was gathered on each child, followed by testing of (1) single word reading accuracy and phonemic decoding skills using TOWRE, (2) target and non-target vocabulary using a bespoke measure and (3) connected text reading accuracy, reading rate and reading comprehension using YARC at three time points. T1 and T2 assessments took place prior to SuRe programme (a multicomponent reading comprehension intervention), T3 assessment was directly after the intervention finished. Ethical approval was granted by the University of Sheffield Reference Number 045323.
