Hospital Environmental Audit & Improvement Tool: Dental Hospital case study
The creation of a Hospital Environmental Audit & Improvement Tool (HEAIT). This is a metric-based institutional advocacy tool for auditing, evaluating and improving environmental practice in dental hospitals. The aim is to continuously and systematically audit environmental sustainability activities in a hospital to improve planetary health awareness and impact mitigation. It seeks positive engagement from staff across all sectors and career grades with proactive multi-stakeholder corrective measures. Activities associated with the audit can then be tracked over time to demonstrate meaningful improvement. A strategic objective for this tool is to ensure staff engagement at all levels.
The data set included in this repository consists of two documents:
ES Audit Toolkit for Oral healthcare Template(HEAIT).xlsx: This is a template of the audit tool, customised for use in 'Restorative Dentistry'. Approximately >75% of the statements included are generic to all secondary care health care sectors. The remainder are readily customisable for alternative hospital settings.
Hospital Environmental Audit & Improvement Tool (HEAIT).docx: This is a blank report form used to collate the results prior to submission to the governing stakeholder organisation.
