Super resolution microscopy data taken at the Central Laser Facility (CLF) in Oxford. This data is for different stages of butterfly scale development. The development stage is listed in % development in the file title or sometimes quoted in days. Each image file has a .lif file that contains the relevant metadata. Each image file is labelled with the sample information, developmental stage and wing region. The files can be opened with image analysis software like ImageJ (https://imagej.net/ij/) or FIJI (https://imagej.net/software/fiji/). Also the software Huygens can be used https://svi.nl/Huygens-Software to view and process the images for quantitative information.
