Data for the thermal abuse of commercial 18650 LFB Li-ion cells (consolidated into a zip file). The data was acquired by Accelerating Rate Calorimetry (Thermal Hazard Technology EV+) and oven exposure.

Twenty-three ARC tests were carried out with the heat-wait-seek procedure for cells at various SOC. ARC data includes the complete test file as well as the exotherm (exo) only file, where the exotherm threshold was defined as 0.02 °C / min.

Twelve oven tests were carried out at 100% SOC for various set temperatures. Oven data includes cell and oven temperature over time. File name corresponds to the oven set temperature, but the exact temperature will vary slightly and can be determined from the data file.

The units of the data are described in the readMe.txt files. Test type, SOC, set temperature and repetition ID are included in the file name. Additional data, such as mass, is recorded in ReadMe.txt.

This data supports the article in the Journal of Power Sources (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jpowsour.2019.01.013), where further details on the methodology can be found. Testing carried out in the years 2017/2018.
