Health information literacy in marginalised communities: Final report
This report presents findings from a QR Knowledge Exchange project that took place in 2023 that aimed to develop partnerships with marginalised communities and co-produce research priorities in Health Literacy (HL). Between May and October 2023, researchers from the University of Sheffield Information School met with community groups from the Somali, Yemeni and Roma communities in a series of participatory co-production workshops. These groups were chosen due to their proximity to the Pitsmoor GP Practice. Workshop One focused on trusted health information sources and barriers to getting health information. Workshop Two focused on defining future research priorities, how to engage the community with the research and generate impact. This project received ethical approval from the University of Sheffield Information School Application 053467.
