This toolkit: Loneliness and Isolation in BAME communities in the UK, is the output of research conducted with older people, healthcare professionals and experts in the field. The research project was funded by the Burdett Trust for Nursing. This study was about how older people aged 55 and over from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups experience social isolation and loneliness within their family settings and relationships as well in the wider society. These experiences were analyzed to develop a simple-to-use measurement tool for community and healthcare professionals to understand and assess the level of isolation and loneliness among older people from BAME communities.
