TCPAT2 is a tool for analysing temporal concentration profiles, such as those used in river tracing, with a variety of one-dimensional modelling approaches including the Advection-Dispersion Equation (ADE), Aggregated Dead Zone Modelling (ADZ/ADZM), and Residence Time Distribution (RTD) modelling. In some cases the ADE may also be referred to as the Advection-Diffusion Equation or Convection-Diffusion Equation. Find the latest version on GitHub.

Visit http://sheffield.ac.uk/mixing-studies/ to learn more about solute transport, concentration profiles, and mixing.

TCPAT2 was funded by EPSRC EP/P012027/1 and University of Sheffield Unleash Your Data funding.

Running TCPAT2

To run extract TCPAT2-2.0.zip and then launch MATLAB R2021a or newer with the Optimization Toolbox. Change to the TCPAT2-2.0 folder and then type TCPAT2 in the Command Window and press enter.

The compiled versions need the MATLAB Runtime R2023b. This will be automatically downloaded when running TCPAT2_WebInstaller.exe, but must be downloaded installed separately before running TCPAT2.exe.

To learn more about using TCPAT2, please see the README.md file and the TCPAT2 Introductory Tutorial video.
