Optimising Delivery of Diabetes Key Care Processes in UK Primary Care Settings A Scoping Review
Background: Regular delivery of key care processes (KCPs) is essential for diabetes management, but uptake is suboptimal.
Objective: To systematically map literature on interventions and service content to optimise KCP delivery for diabetes patients in UK primary care.
Eligibility criteria: UK-based quantitative and qualitative research of any design involving adults or children with type 1 or 2 diabetes [population] in primary care settings [context]. Studies must pertain to interventions, service content, evaluations or prospective quality improvement studies measuring KCP delivery [concept].
Sources of evidence: MEDLINE, EMBASE and grey literature sources.
Charting methods: Data will be extracted on study characteristics, intervention details using TIDieR items, and outcomes related to KCP delivery.
Expected results: A map of the existing evidence on interventions and service content for optimising diabetes KCP delivery in UK primary care, identifying knowledge gaps.
