Charith Abhayaratne

Dr Abhayaratne received the B.E. in electrical and electronic eng. from The University of Adelaide, Australia (1998), and the Ph.D. in electronic and electrical eng. from the University of Bath, U.K. (2002). He was a recipient of the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM) Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2002-2004) to carry out research at the CWI, The Netherlands, and INRIA, Sophia Antipolis, France. He is currently a Lecturer with the Dept. of Electronic and Electrical Eng., The University of Sheffield, U.K. His research interests include signal processing, image and video compression, analysis, watermarking and content-based approaches for visual content management, security, surveillance, assisted living and remote sensing applications. He has published more than 70 peer reviewed papers in leading journals, conferences and book editions. He is an associated editor for Elsevier Journal of Information Security and Applications (JISA).
