Digital Panopticon

Published on by Sharon Howard
The Digital Panopticon (www.digitalpanopticon.org) is a collaborative project and website that uses digital technologies to bring together genealogical, biometric and criminal justice datasets in order to explore the impact of different punishments on the lives of 100,000 people sentenced at the Old Bailey between 1780 and 1875. The project is making available a number of datasets and its record linkage data to facilitate innovative research beyond the constraints of the online resource.
